Hi Tre T
Parallel lines have exactly the same slope with your line in Slope Intercept Form
y = mx + b, where m is the slope
y=(1/2)x - 3
The slope m = (1/2)
So your parallel line that passes through (3,5) is also
y = (1/2)x + b
Use the coordinates (3,5) to solve for b
5 = (1/2)3 + b
5 = (3/2) + b
5 - (3/2) = b
7/2 = b
Your parallel line is
y = (1/2)x + 7/2
You can graph both your lines to show that they are parallel, and that the coordinates are included at Desmos.com
I hope this helps
