There's a formula for the distance between two points. Look in your math book from time to time. There's lots of useful stuff there. The formula is:
d = √( (x2-x1)2+(y2-y1)2 )
where d is the distance and (x1,y1) = (9,-4) and (x2,y2) = (5,3). Plug the numbers into the formula. You'll get the square root of a number. Leave it in that form. Post your answer as a comment and I'll check it.
