Let "x" be measure of the smallest angle in the triangle.
x → the measure of the smallest angle
(x + 15) → the measure of the 2nd angle in the triangle
3x → the measure of the largest angle in the triangle
Sum of angles' measures in a triangle is 180º.
Writing an equation:
x + (x +15) + 3x = 180
5x + 15 = 180
5x = 165
x = 33º
Calculating "x +3":
x + 15 = 33 + 15 = 48º
Calculating "3x":
3x = 3 • 33 = 99°
Checking:
33 + 48 + 99 = 180
180 = 180 ← works out!
