What is 48 squared minus 8X -23 equals zero using quadratic function

As you have submitted the question there is no quadratic function involved. Also does the minus sign apply to only 8x or to (8x-23)?

Is it 48x^2 instead of 48 squared; 48x^2 - 8x - 23 = 0 is that what you are trying to use the Quadratic Formula with?

I think you meant:


48x2 - 8x - 23 = 0


The quadratic formula (not equation) is:


x = ( -b ± √(b2-4ac) ) / 2a
