Substitute the vales of x into the function y=(1/3)x.
-3 would become y=(1/3)-3
y=(1/3)-3 is the same as 1/(1/3)3 or 1/(1/27)
Therefore y = 27
-1 would become y=(1/3)-1
y=(1/3)-1 = 1/(1/3) = 3
0 is easy. Anything raised to the zero power is equal to one. y = 1
