The specific heat of water (in calories) is 1.0 cal/g/deg. So, it takes 1 calorie to raise 1 gram of water by 1 degree.
So we can use q = mC∆T to answer this question, where
q = heat in calories = ?
m = mass = 6.5 g
C = specific heat = 1 cal/gº
∆T = change in temperature = 32 - 15 = 17º
q = (6.5 g)(1.0 cal/gº)(17º) = 110 cal
