Balancing redox half reactions

Cr2O7^-2 ➡️ Cr+3

How would you balance this half reaction in acidic solution if you were to put on 1/2 in front of Cr2O7^-2 instead of 2 in front of Cr+3 to balance the chromium?

1/2 Cr2O7^-2 ➡️ Cr+3

Thank you for your response! With the 7/2 H2O, does the twos ( the one as the denominator and 2 in H2O) cancel each other out? Will it make it easier to rewrite water as H-OH?

Well, I certainly guess you could look at it that way, but I simply used the 7/2 (3.5) to balance the oxygens since we had 1/2 of 7 oxygens on the left side in Cr2O7. If you find it easier to use H-OH, there's nothing wrong with that. I do that sometimes.
