How to calculate a cone

How do I I calculate a cone lampshade with specific measurements

Could it be asking you to calculate the area of two cones and subtract the smaller one from the larger? That would give a shape similar to a lampshade.

Possibly you are asked to derive the area by integration? Shouldn't be all that difficult; instantaneous circumference = 2.pi.r, and slope factor is calculable by geometry.

or just maybe trying to find the volume or surface area of the cone shaped lampshade... I guess we will never know unless Sally G returns to answer the question and provide the dimensions, data, and complete statement of the problem
