A square has four equal sides. The diagnol line will make two triangles in the square with a 90-45-45 degree angles, therefore two equal sides with a hypothenuse( the diagnol line). Using Pythagorean theorem,
a^2+b^2=c^2
c=11.3 meters
a=b( since equal sides)
so
2a^2=(11.3)^2
2a^2=127.
divide 2 on both sides
a^2=63.5
a=7.968
a is one side of a square, you will multiply the side times 4 which will equal your answer of 31.874 m.
