tan(πx) = sin(πx) / cos(πx)
To find the x-intercepts of a function, set it equal to zero and solve for x.
tan(πx) = 0 only when sin(πx) = 0.
So, πx = kπ, where k = 0, 1, -1, 2, -2, ...
x = k
The graph of y = tan(πx) intersects the x-axis when x = 0, 1, -1, 2, -2, ...
