Finding moles of ions vs. how many ions in a compound

  1. How many ions are in 6.0 moles of Fe(NO3)2? There are only 3 ions in this molecules?

6.0 mol Fe(NO3)2 x 6.02x10^23 molecule Fe(NO3)2 / 1 mol Fe(NO3)2 x 3 ions / 1 molecules Fe(NO3)2

ans: 1.1 x 10^25 ions.

  1. How many moles of ions are present in 3.5 moles of Fe(NO3)2?

I have: 3.5 mol Fe(NO3)2 x 3mol ions / 1 mol Fe(NO3)2 = 11 mol of ions

Not sure if I got them correct. What is the different between how many ions and moles of ions for a compound?
