2Al + 3FeO ==> Al2O3 + 3Fe ... balanced equation
Find limiting reactant:
moles Al present = 294.63 g x 1 mol Al / 26.98 g = 10.92 moles Al
moles FeO present = 2.46 g x 1 mol FeO / 71.84 g = 0.0342 moles FeO
Clearly, the FeO is in limiting supply as it takes 3 moles for each 2 moles Al in balanced equation.
Theoretical yield of Fe = 0.0342 moles FeO x 3 moles Fe / 3 moles FeO x 55.8 g/mol = 1.91 g Fe
