In this experiment is it necessary to decompose all of the KClO₃? Why or why not?

Certainly if you are trying to use experimental data to indirectly measure the mass of oxygen gas released by measuring the mass of residual KCl left over after heating the KClO3 to determine R , then you MUST decompose all the KClO3
