if 3 is being added to boty the num. and denom. of the oigginal equation then the problem can be swet like this.
3/3+x/x=1/2 where x/x is the original fraction. First lets do some algebraic manipulation
3/3-3/3+x/x=1/2-3/3 is x/x=1/2-3/3 then find the lcm which is 6 since 2 times 3 is 6 and 3 times 2 is also 6.
so the equation comes out like this. 3/6-6/6 which is -3/6 and when 3/3 is added to -3/6 it becomes -9/18+18/18 which is 9/18 which simplifies to 1/2. So the original equation is -3/6.
