Hi Kylee,

The slope of a line is the "rise" over the "run". So, for your line with points (10,2) and (12,8), the slope can be found as follows:

y_{2} - y_{1} / x_{2 }- x_{1} Slope Definition

8 - 2 / 12 - 10 Plugging in your coordinates

= 6 / 2 Raw answer

= 3 Simplify

**The slope of your line = 3**

Hope that helps!

It is important to know that RISE is the difference in y-coordinates of two points and RUN is the difference in the corresponding x-coordinates of those same two points.
