A wooden artifact from an ancient tomb contains 25 percent of the carbon-14 that is present in living trees. How long ago, to the nearest year, was the artifact made? (The half-life of carbon-14 is 5730 years.)

C'mon Leon M., 25% represents exactly 2 half-lives gone. Don't worry about changes in .delta.C(14) over history unless someone asks for that. -- Cheers, --Mr. d. (P.S. You should be able to work with logs, and I don't mean just the ones with C(14) in ....)
