If <IGJ equal <HJG then by the converse of the alternate interior angles theorem, IG is parallel to HJ. Since the opposite sides of GHIJ are parallel, the GHIJ is a parallelogram. Since GHIJ is a parallelogram, then the opposite sides IG and HJ are equal.
