A contrapositive exchanges and negates the hypothesis and conclusion of a biconditional statement so instead of "if p, then q", it becomes "If not q, then not p".
So the standard conditional statement, "If you are a pitcher, then you are on a baseball team." written as the contrapositive would be, "If you are not on a baseball team, then you are not a pitcher."
What do you think? Is it possible to not be on a baseball team and still be a pitcher?
