cosA = 1/sqr10
tanA = -3
It creates a right triangle with sides 1, -3 and sqr(1^2 + 3^2) = sqr10
sin is opposite/hypotenuse
cos is adjacent/hypotenuse
tan is opposite/adjacent
opposite side =-3 adjacent side =1, hypotenuse = sqr10
You don't have to calculate the angle to find the trig functions
