Job search site analysis

With the stunning success of job search websites—especially Monster.com and HotJobs.com—much of the job search industry has moved online. Take a few moments to check out each site. Notice that Monster seems to offer more tangential information—from buying insurance to finding the right college—than Hot Jobs, but both sites offer highly targeted information directly related to job hunting, such as creating a great resume or negotiating your salary.

Which site do you find most helpful? Why?

Compare and contrast the jobs available on each site in your area. Which site offers better jobs for you? Do you find much overlap?

What are the downsides to searching for a job online?

When I say pretend role, you can go to the job sites and do a search for a role, for example, 'business analyst' or 'front end developer', click search and see the results. Click on one result from each site and compare and contrast the results.
