An object is thrown from a height of 120 feet. The position function is given by

H(t)= -16t^2 +48t +120 and the initial velocity is 48t.

Find the average velocity of the object between 2 to 4 seconds.

The average velocity is given by H(4) - H(2)/2. 4-2=2

H(4)=-16(4)^2 +48(4) +120 =. 56

H(2)= -16(2)^2 +48(2)+120 = 176

56 - 176/2 = -60 feet/sec.
