Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra I applies Mathematical operations for problem solving with the unknown. It introduces equations, slopes of lines, absolute values, inequalities, equation systems, and solutions of radicals. The student also needs to know how to work with exponents, factorization, etc.

This subject examines further properties of absolute values, inequalities, and double variables. You will learn graphing and solving system of equations, domains and ranges, undefined situations and quadratic systems. You will also learn the application of a number of formulas.

I have a bachelor's degree plus eighteen college credit hours in the areas of Mathematics, and Economics. In addition I have worked in the elementary schools for six years assisting students with Math, Reading, and Science. I have received extensive training in teaching elementary students. I have also worked with educational software for five years.

This math teaches the basics of math operations, algebra, statistics, and problem solving. There are also percentages, fractions, and decimals involved.

Geometry is an interesting study of figures, shapes, and angles. It is important for those aspiring to be engineers, or get in the construction field. It lies at the heart of calculus, trigonometry, and is a study of many theorems, and axioms known as Euclidian geometry.

English Grammar consists of good sentence building, punctuation, tense, and the correct usage of pronouns, singular and plural. It is essential for high school students in order to pass the exit exams.

This subject prepares a student for Algebra through basic Math operations and rules. It teaches the procedures for solving equations using graphs, formulas, and proofs. The student needs to know how to work with fractions and decimals, long division, and the use of signs.

I believe this course includes all the major concepts of Algebra along with Trigonometry. It aims at improving your knowledge of Mathematics through fascinating concepts and solutions. This is a building bridge towards Calculus and higher mathematics.

Reading consists of being able to comprehend the material, correct pronounciation, and good grammar. Reading helps build one's knowledge about the world around us and is vital to functioning with everyday life.

I find Trigonometry to be fascinating. It simplifies complex measurements by the use of angles and triangles. One can apply the rules for easy solutions to problems. It provides many tools for applications to various fields of Mathematics.
