You are multiplying 2/5 * 20 yielding 40/5. Remember you multiply the numerators of 2 and 20 and the denominators of 5 and 1. Now 40/5 is 8 so that is the answer.

You can if you want to, you can think of it in time units so 2/5 * 60 minutes is 24 minutes. If he reads 24 minutes for 20 days, that 24 * 20 = 480 minutes and then divide by 60 to switch back to hours, 480/60 = 8 hours.
What is the part that is giving you difficulty is it understanding the fraction in general or just the part of multiplying a fraction by another number?

I did not know you could straight multiply. I thought you had to find the fraction part first. I also did not know that once I got 480min, I had to divide by 60. Thank you. It's not easy but I will keep trying.

Math is just a matter of practice and a lot of it. Especially word problems which are hard to find but work your brain the most. Keep at it and don't be discouraged.
