Yes, I do see a connection between the prolific writer and the narrator of raven. The Rave has a relation with Edgar Allen Poe's life because they both were sad and had may struggles. The narrator is thinking about his loss. Edgar was going though some tough times. Even though he was famous he was dirt poor.
