Ratio (w/l) of a RECTANGLE is 4:15. If the perimeter is 152 meters, find the area of the rectangle.
- Perimeter 2W + 2L = 152
- W = X, L = (15/4)X
- 152 = 2(X) + 2(15/4(X))
- 152 = 2X + 15/2(X)
- 152 = 9.5(X)
- X = 16 (width) L = 60
- Area = 960 meters2
I hope this helps!
4/15 = W/L, i.e. W = 4L/15
Perimeter: 2(L+W)=152 => L+W = 76 and L + 4L/15 = 76
19L = 76 * 15 => L = 60
W = 16
Then area = 60 * 16
