You can do this problem two ways. You can use the triangle sum theorem and find that the missing angle in triangle KLM is 180- ( 135 + 23) = 22 degrees. Angle XLM and Angle KLM form a linear pair so they are supplementary. You can subtract 180-22= 158. The measure of angle XLM is 158. Now you are able to
set 3x-10 = 158 .
The second way is to use the Exterior Angle Theorem . The exterior angle of a triangle, Angle XLM is equal to the sum of the two remote interior angles. The sum of the two remote interior angles is 135 + 23=158. Set
3x-10 = 158.
