Work this backwards...


The total number of degrees of the interior angles is given by (n-1)*180.

Since we know this is equal to 3960, we solve the algebra equations


3960 = (n-1) * 180


Divide both sides by 180


22 = n - 1


Add 1 to both sides


n = 23 Your polygon has 23 sides.

sorry, Mark is right. It is n-2 that is multiplied by 180, this would change the answer to 22 = n-2, so n=24 and polygon has 24 sides.
