Take the line given to you
Make sure it is in slop intercept form, which would be
Y = Mx + b
Your parallel line going through points (3,0) will share the same slope M.
In order for lines to be parallel they need to have equal slopes
Parallel line equation
Y = Mx + b'
b' = y-intercept of the parallel line. Need to find this given points (3,0)
Set points (3,0) to equation Y = Mx+b'
0 = M(3) + b'
b' = -M(3)
Now sub in
Y = Mx + (-3M)
That is your equation of the parallel line.
Plug in the slope given and that will be your answer!
