What occurs when you copy a low quality image from the internet and attempt to enlarge the photo?

Images from the internet have a set resolution, which is either high or low, whereas you cannot add pixels. When enlarging the image you are only enlarging the pixels. This makes the pixels more visible to the eye therefore the image looks pixilated.

As Linda R. has stated, the low quality image from the internet would become more blurry as you enlarge it.

If the image is black/white, you could use image trace to vectorize the image and then enlarge. Different from images, vectors will not become blurry as you enlarge or shrink it.

Depending on the size of the image you download, you may not need to enlarge.
