also bequeathed the first name Earnest to him. Nothing was ambiguous about their choice.
In fact, it was anything but unsuitable--he was earnest and wanted to be earnest. At the same
time, the name meant confinement; he had trouble becoming more spontaneous and
frivolous. Caprice never met him up. Obligation and dreary took up all his days. What could
he do? Rather than despair, he decided to go delicate--and delicate he went. Intently he
