If x is the deg. of the given angle and y the deg of its complement angle then we must have by definition that x+y=180. By assumption we have that y=x+26. Substituting this into the first equation we obtain that

180=x+x+26=2x+26 or equivalently 2x=180-26=154 which implies that x=77. Thus, y=x+26=77+26=103.
