First of all, let’s review what supplementary means. Supplementary means angles that have a sum of 180. For example, 100 and 80 are supplementary bc when added together the sum is 180.
So you have two angles: < P and < Q and since they’re supplementary, you also know this: <P + < Q =180
Here’s what else you know:
< P = (4x+1)
< Q= (9x-3)
Therefore:
<P + <Q = 180
replace <P and <Q
(4x+1) + (9x-3) = 180
Combine like terms
13x -2 = 180
Solve for x
13x=182
Find x. Then replace x into (9x-3) ——> 9( ) - 3
That will give you the measure of angle Q.
