Since both coordinates have an ordinate (the y part of the ordered pair) of -3 the line must be a horizontal line. The equation of that line is y= -3! The midpoint would be half of the distance from X= -4 to x= 5. Half of that distance would be 4.5. So the new abscissa (the x part of the ordered pair) would be -4 + 4.5 or 0.5. The ordinate remains at -3. The midpoint's ordered pair is (0.5, -3).
