Random number sample. Help!

Question

Suppose you want to draw a random sample of 4 people from a population of 90 people. Suppose the starting point randomly chosen in a random number table begins with these numbers:

71542 30918 21101 63219 51062 83726 42963

What will be the numbers of the four people chosen for the sample?

I have the answers 71, 54, 23, 9. Is this right? When my professor taught it in class I was confused. Please help thanks!!!!

looks reasonable...

as the sample size is 4, the random numbers are within range...

but if you keep going you'll get 96, which follows 42.

THAT will have to be disqualified.

As long as your teacher says to treat consecutive pairs of digits

as the random number, then yes you are correct...
