We are told that P(s) is in excess so the amount of PI3 will depend only on the amount of I2(s) present
moles I2 = 58.6 g I2 x 1 mol I2/254 g = 0.2307 moles I2
Theoretical yield = 0.2307 mol I2 x 2 mol PI3 / 3 mol I2 = 0.154 moles PI3
% yield = actual yield/theoretical yield (x100%) = 0.147 mol/0.154 mol (x100%) = 95.5% yield
