2N2O5(g) ==> 4 NO2(g) + O2(g) ... balanced equation
To find moles of NO2 that forms, we need to look at the mol ratio of N2O5 to NO2. It is 2:4 or 1:2. We are given moles of N2O5 and so can easily find moles of NO2. We will use dimensional analysis to do this.
moles N2O5 = 5.20x10-3 moles
moles NO2 formed = 5.20x10-3 mol N2O5 x 4 mol NO2 / 2 mol N2O5 = 10.4x10-3 mol = 1.04x10-2 mol NO2
