Rectangle expression in simplest form

The length of a rectangle is x+2. The perimeter of the rectangle is 5x-3. Write an expression in simplest form to describe the combined width of the rectangle.

5x-3= 2(x+2+w) = P= 2(L+w) = twice sum of Length&width

x+2 +w = (5x-3)/2

w = 5x/2 -3/2 -x -2

w= 3x/2 -7/2

w = 1.5x -3.5 = width
