To write this in slope-intercept form you will first need to put it into point-slope form:
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
The point they give you is (x1,y1) and the slope is m, so when you substitute your values in you will get:
y - (-5) = 6(x - (-1)) I would then change the minus negatives to addition:
y + 5 = 6(x + 1) Next you need to distribute(multiply) the 6:
y + 5 = 6x + 6 Lastly you need to get y by itself by subtracting 5 on each side of your equation:
y = 6x + 1
