The formula for Midpoint is (x₁+ x₂)/2 , (y₁+ y₂)/2

(2 + x)/2 , (7 + y)/2 = (7,10)

(2 + x)/2 = 7 multiply 2 on both sides

2 + x = 14

x = 12

(7 + y)/2 = 10. multiply 2 on both sides

7 + y = 20

y = 13

Therefore the endpoint D is (12, 13)

The difference between the x coordinate of the midpoint and the x coordinate of C is 7-2=5. Add that difference to the x-coordinate of the midpoint (7), to get the x-coordinate of the other endpoint D (12).

The difference between the y coordinate of the midpoint and the y coordinate of C is 10-7=3. Add that difference to the y-coordinate of the midpoint (10), to get the y-coordinate of the other endpoint D (13).

The coordinates of D are thus (12,13).
