Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
QR + RS = QS
3x-5 + 5x-5 = 2x+2
8x-10 = 2x+2
4x-5 = x+1
3x = 6
x= 2
QR= 3x-5 = 3(2)-5 = 6-5 = 1
QR = 1

You draw a picture which represent your problem.
Since R is on the segment QS, the length of QS is equal to length of QR plus length of RS
QS=QR+RS
2x+2=3x-5+5x-5
Solve for x
2x+2=8x
6x=2
x=2/6=1/3
Now, use value of x to calculate QR
