What we want to know is the number of grams of fat are in the box.
We know the box is 1 pound, and we can look up that there are 454 grams in a pound (rounded to nearest gram) but we know that only a part of those grams is the chocolate. What part? They tell us 7 out of 22.7, so 7/22.7 is the fraction of the 454 that is chocolate. So, just multiply 454× 7/22.7 and you have your answer. Notice that you really do not need to know how many pieces there are, since the question only asks what is in the box. Always try to understand what you are being asked for first, since otherwise it gets so confusing, and also you may end up calculating the wrong thing.
