How can you permit airflow in a faraday cage built of thick metal that shields high and low frequencies?

You can use holes and still maintain your shield effectiveness. You can also use conductive cooling to an exterior wall or heat sink.

Google "designing an electrical shield with holes for ventilation" and you'll see some articles that will guide you. If you must have a solid shield, then just conduct the heat to the outside and then dissipate it.
