When you have an equation in slope-intercept form y = mx + b the slope is equal to m. The function contains the point (3,4), so plug the values that you know in to the equation and then solve for b
x = 3
y = 4
m = 2
y = mx + b
4 = (2)(3) + b
4 = 6 + b
-2 = b
Therefore b = -2 and the slope-intercept form of the function is
y = 2x - 2
