I am a former medical professional. I have worked during natural and man made disasters. What is your question?
If you're looking for a push, let me propose a hypothetical: you have two patients. One is younger, has a family, good job, etc., and you can save them. But they will take extraordinary amounts of resources to do so, taking away from other patients. The second is a criminal. Cussing, screaming, fighting, came in with police. He will take almost no resources but enough time that you may not be able to help out the first patient. Either one could die if not treated immediately.
What do you do? Save the criminal in hopes that you have time, or let the criminal die to save the other person? Why? And would that change if the criminal was your brother or loved one?
Remember - do no harm. Send me a message if you want to chat. That, btw, is a real situation.
