In this problem we need to find the value X so that if we draw a vertical line from x=X upwards, the area to the left of the line is 0.37 (which means the area to the right must be 1 - 0.37 = 0.63).
If you look at a table of areas under a standard normal relating area to Z score - when the area is 0.37, the Z score is approximately -0.33 (this gives an area to the left of the vertical line as 0.3707).
Z = (X-µ) / σ. (DEFINITION). µ is the mean (here 0), and σ is the standard deviation (here 1).
Z = -0.33
So -0.33 = (X-0) / 1. -0.33 = X/1. So X = -0.33 x 1 = -0.33
So P 37 = -0.33 degrees celsius
