Thermosetting and thermoplastic polymers

Question

Both thermosetting and thermoplastic polymers have strong covalent bonds within the polymer chains. What is the difference in bonding between the chains?

Wide open question. Bonds between chains may refer to x-linking or chemical bonds. Majority of thermosets can be xlinked, vastly increasing bond strength. Many cases, eliminating melting and glass points. Few thermoplastics can be xlinked (many c an be branched), so that's a difference However, many thermoplastics are crystallline, improving intermolecular bond strength considerably.
