I just need help please.

1.To compare the effects of an oral antibiotic on subjects suffering from a chronic bacterial infection, we conduct a matched-pair study, matching subjects who are treated with the antibiotic to subjects who are treated with bed rest only. The antibiotic is known to irritate the digestive system. Our null hypothesis is that there is no difference in weight gain between the subjects after six months. We will use a two-tailed test and level of significance 0.05.

Suppose our study involves n =75 matched pairs We compute d by subtracting the weight gain for each bed rest patient from the weigh gain for the matched patient treated with the antibiotic. The average different d with bar on top = -2517 g with standard deviation s subscript d = 3179 g.

The degrees of freedom is

The critical numbert subscript alpha divided by 2 end subscript is

The value of the test statistic is TS =

2.Use the critical number to determine whether there is evidence that the mean weight gain is different for the two groups. Explain how you decided, using complete sentences.

A or B

A.) There is evidence at level of significance 0.05 that the mean weight gain is different for the two groups.

B.) There is not evidence at level of significance 0.05 that the mean weight gain is different for the two groups.

Why?

3.Now suppose our study involves n = 150 matched pairs We compute d by subtracting the weight gain for each bed rest patient from the weigh gain for the matched patient treated with the antibiotic. The average different d with bar on top = -3002 g with standard deviation s subscript d = 3081 g.

The degrees of freedom is

The critical number t subscript alpha divided by 2 end subscript is  .

The value of the test statistic is TS =

4.Again use the critical number to determine whether there is evidence that the mean weight gain is different for the two groups. Explain how you decided, using complete sentences.

A or B

A.) There is evidence at level of significance 0.05 that the mean weight gain is different for the two groups.

B.) There is not evidence at level of significance 0.05 that the mean weight gain is different for the two groups.

Why?
