Midpoint on a triangle

Use GHJ, where A, B, and C are midpoints of the sides.

If GH = 3x + 3 and BC = 2x - 3 what is GH

The length of a line that joins the midpoints of the sides of the triangle (BC) is 1/2 the length of the other side (GH), so 2x -3 = (3x+3)/2

4x -6 = 3x + 3

x = 9

GH = 3(9) + 3 = 30
