A gift basket maker incurs the cost for a basket according to C = 10x + 713. If the revenue for the baskets is R = 33x where x is the number of baskets made and sold. Break even occurs when costs = revenues.

Break even occurs when costs = revenues. This means the same amount of money spent on the baskets is the same as the money people spent on the baskets.

I don't see a question here but I am going to assume that the question is how many baskets must be sold to break even - ? If so, then set C = R and solve for x. Remember that you cannot sell a portion of a basket, so if x is any decimal, then round up (even if the decimal is would not normally round up).

10x + 713 = 33x
