solve the equation:

g(x)=-3cos(x times pi over 3) plus 2

g(x)= 3.5

for x is an element of [0,6]

** x times pi is the numerator and 3 is the denominator

This looks intimidating when you write it, but it is pretty simple really.

A little algebra on the equation gets you cos (πx/3)=1/2

cos = 1/2 when the angle π/3...πx/3 = π/3...and there you have it

(Oh, I assumed you know the trig functions in a 30-60 right triangle!)
